So much has happened since I last updated. I never meant to not post on here....it just sort of happened. Oops. Sorry to my loyal readers (all six of you).
Let me start off by saying that my computer had some sort of freak problem. I had to restart it a few weeks ago and when it restarted....everything was gone! Everything. It was like a brand new computer....... It sucked. I had planned for this just in case something like this ever happened by buying a separate hard drive. But the problem was that I hadn't saved to it in about three months........ Aggghhhh........ Oh well. So some key pictures that we've taken over the past few months we have lost. I guess worse things could happen.
Well, two weekends ago my dad came in town. He came in on a Friday night and left on Sunday morning. It was a short visit, but very nice to see him again. It happened two weeks ago and I'm trying to rack my brain about funny or significant things that happened. Haha. I've had so much going on in my head that I can't remember anything THAT long ago! Haha.
We went and ate at Rudy's BBQ, Mason Jar and Buffalo Wing's and Rings with him.....We like food. We also went to the border crossing at Lake Amistad. I remember being very relaxed that weekend for some reason. It was nice to see my dad.
Last weekend we went to a drop night here on base. Our neighbors got a babysitter and we went with them. We have a lot of fun with them when we go out.
Last weekend we also tried out a new church. Of base...., still Catholic. But, its a Saturday afternoon mass instead. It was a little different. They had all of the music on a giant overhead projector displayed right to the side of the alter...... it was so weird. Haha
This week I failed a test. Booooo. I got a 75%! It is my worst grade of all time here so far! I re-took it the next day and got a 100%. But still ......... that sucks. I have my first T-1 checkride this Tuesday........... wish me luck. The picture above is me studying.
This weekend Kristen's aunt, uncle and two cousins came to visit. They got here on Thursday and left today (Sunday). Kristen made my favorite, and future famous chicken lasagna for dinner. And tres leches for desert. It was soooo good.
On Friday I went to work and Kristen showed them a little bit of Del Rio and the lake. They met me for lunch at the "restaurant" next to the flightline. That night we went to Rudy's BBQ and then came back here and drank some beer.
On Saturday we went to the lake and rented a boat. We got a pontoon boat because of the number of people we had. I was thinking that it was going to be lame because it was just a pontoon boat and we couldn't ski from it. But........ it rocked! It was not that fast, but it got us out into the lake. On the way out there we lost our tubes... It was so funny. We hadn't fastened them in there good enough I guess. Haha. We probably looked like fools out there turning around in the middle of the lake chasing our tubes in the wind. Haha. We were laughing so hard.
We found a few cool beaches and anchored the boat. We turned up the music on the ice chest (yes..., the ice chest), sat in our tubes, drank and laughed. It was good times.
We decided to climb the "mountain" that we were parked next to out on the lake. It was funny. We were all in sandals and bathing suits. It was tough. Click on this sentence for a video of where we were at...... nice. huh?
When we got back home today Dallas, our "guard dog" was a sleep on the job. Then when she woke up you could tell that she was scared that she got caught sleeping on the job.
My flying partner drink energy drinks all of the time... Here is a picture of the one he was drinking today. I think his heart is going to explode one day. the label has a giant warning on it that says "WARNING: NEVER EXCEED ONE CAN DAILY. READ ENTIRE LABEL BEFORE DRINKING". Haha

Memorial Day weekend
Just like in T-6's.....I am in front of the class again. Not in grades......but in flights. I am the one who will make all of the errors first and others will learn from my mistakes... haha. I get cut a little slack because of that though, so it's OK. I flew to a few cool places this week. Dyess AFB, TX, Fort Hood,TX, and Midland, TX twice.
Last weekend the in-laws came in town! Its always nice to have visitors. And its especially nice for Kristen to have her parents here for a few days.
Kristen's parents got here on Thursday night....the night before my dollar ride, and they left the following Wednesday. It was really nice to see familiar faces again. I had so much to talk about when I came home on Friday night after my dollar ride. I was so pumped up! Then we went to a drop night that night also. I love showing my family and friends a drop night. They are so much fun to go to. Kristen's parents seemed to like it.
On Saturday I got Mr. Dennis to help me fix my broken lawnmower. I have to be honest....I didn't think that he could fix it. But he did! What a hero! He saved me some $. And he had a great idea of "borrowing" tools from Home Depot. Haha. We went to Emporium for shakes and then came back home to BBQ.
On Sunday we went on the lake. It was fun. Mr. Dennis is an avid boater and a former water skier....haha. He showed me a little of the ropes on the water. Poor Mrs. Denys just tried to not get too seasick the whole time. My friend Brandon back in New Orleans sent up an ice chest radio with the in-laws. It was awesome out on the boat! You can see the ice chest on the boat in the picture. It is LOUD!
Our main focus out there I think was water skiing. Mr. Dennis got up on the first try. Click on the numbers 1,2 and 3 for a few videos of him skiing. he was good. He even kicked off one ski and just skied on one ski for a while.
Click on the numbers 1 and 2 to see Kristen get up on the first try.
I never got up on 12 tries!!!! Hahahahahha........It was so frustrating. There is no videos associated with this.....sorry...., it was be to boring.
We went to a small island and had our own private beach for a little while. Mr. Dennis bought some snorkeling gear so him and I went to see some fish. It was very uneventful.... we just saw the bottom of the lake.
After the lake we drove halfway across the dam to check out the Mexican border.
On Monday Mr. Dennis BBQ'd again. This time he made shish-kabobs. They were a hit. They had steak, chicken, shrimp and Mahi-Mahi on them. My neighbor's are asking me when he's coming back already. Haha.

I started out the week kinda rough. On Tuesday I had a big day. First I had a flight, I got an Excellent, then from there I went straight to an EPQ (weekly quiz), where I hooked it. Booooooo. Then straight from there I went to a systems test, I passed it! They brought me some Hubig's pies from new Orleans to cheer me up!
So Tuesday night was the in-laws last night here and I was not in a good mood. Sometimes you think that you have a handle on everything, but you really don't. I'm just trying to drink from the firehose right now......
I took this picture of me about to eat a Swiss Roll while riding in the back of the plane......I love the T-1.
