Still acting bachelor-like

Well....... I'm still living the bachelor life over here in Del Rio.  Kristen was going to come back the day after Mardi Gras with a couple of fresh king cakes....... But...... Haydel's (king cake place) happens to take their vacaition the week after Mardi Gras... Who would have thought?  Haha.  So Kristen decided to stay over there until this Tuesday when Haydel's will be opening again.  And yes.... king cakes ARE that important.
So... I'm done with all of the food that Kristen cooked for me.  Now it's up to me to prepare food.  Haha. I haven't done that in a while.  I'm alright though.  It looks like soup, cereal and sandwiches for me for the next few days.
Also, kristen is sick right now.  No this time she really is.  Haha.  She always says that she thinks that she is sick but she never really is.  This time it was confirmed by a real doctor!  So..., say some prayers for her to get better.
This week started off rough for me here.  I hooked a flight (that means I got a grade of "U"...not good).  But I was flying with an IP (Instructor Pilot) who........uhmmm......we just have competing personalities.  Which is not good if that competing personality is grading you. Haha.
On Friday I flew with our new flight commander.  He just flew with someone right before me and gave them a "U".  Soooo... I was a little scared and wanted to make a good first impression.  Well..., I did!  He gave me an "E" (Excellent)!!!  Awesome.  That was my first E over here.
I have my second checkride on Monday.  I'm not as nervous as I was a few weeks ago for my first one.  This one is my final contact check.  Which basically means all of my aerobatic maneuvers....loop, aileron roll, cloverleaf, Cuban 8, etc.... Fun stuff.  I start night flying this week which sounds like fun.  I have the chance of maybe doing my first formation flight on Wednesday or Thursday also.  And then on Friday I'll fly out of Del Rio and go cross-country and come back on Monday.   I'm not sure where I'll be flying.  I wanted to go to Canada to see some Olympics..., but I'm going with three other planes and we all have to agree.  They kinda want to go to San Diego and Las Vegas. So I'm not sure where I'll be going but I'm sure it'll be fun.  I'll try to keep the blog updated....but no promises.

The pics are 1. Me in front of the might T-6 of course
                    2. A JC-130W (Hurricane Hunters from Keesler AFB) stopped by and let us check out their plane
                    3. Me inside of the C-130
                    4. A view from the HUD (Heads Up Display) in the C-130.... that's so freekin' sweet!
                    5. A cool IP trying to explain to me where I just was...I was so confused.

  2. King cakes are THAT important. My grandparents brought us 4 this year and I got the king baby out of each one. Good luck or bad luck? Depends on how ya look at it! Last year no one could bring us one so we had one overnighted, for the small sum of 70 bucks! Crazy!

  3. Coy,

Sorry you had to cook for yourself. But then again, it can't be that hard...I've lived with you before and you only eat turkey sandwiches.

  6. Hi Coy! It's Staci, your mom's, husband's, son's girlfriend. :) What is your email, I have a funny forward for you. If you can't handle the ramen anymore, you COULD make ramen and add some shrimp to it in a skillet and THAT is practically gourmet! :) stacitystace@hotmail.com
