So much has happened since I last updated. I never meant to not post on here....it just sort of happened. Oops. Sorry to my loyal readers (all six of you).
Let me start off by saying that my computer had some sort of freak problem. I had to restart it a few weeks ago and when it restarted....everything was gone! Everything. It was like a brand new computer....... It sucked. I had planned for this just in case something like this ever happened by buying a separate hard drive. But the problem was that I hadn't saved to it in about three months........ Aggghhhh........ Oh well. So some key pictures that we've taken over the past few months we have lost. I guess worse things could happen.
Well, two weekends ago my dad came in town. He came in on a Friday night and left on Sunday morning. It was a short visit, but very nice to see him again. It happened two weeks ago and I'm trying to rack my brain about funny or significant things that happened. Haha. I've had so much going on in my head that I can't remember anything THAT long ago! Haha.
We went and ate at Rudy's BBQ, Mason Jar and Buffalo Wing's and Rings with him.....We like food. We also went to the border crossing at Lake Amistad. I remember being very relaxed that weekend for some reason. It was nice to see my dad.
Last weekend we went to a drop night here on base. Our neighbors got a babysitter and we went with them. We have a lot of fun with them when we go out.
Last weekend we also tried out a new church. Of base...., still Catholic. But, its a Saturday afternoon mass instead. It was a little different. They had all of the music on a giant overhead projector displayed right to the side of the alter...... it was so weird. Haha
This week I failed a test. Booooo. I got a 75%! It is my worst grade of all time here so far! I re-took it the next day and got a 100%. But still ......... that sucks. I have my first T-1 checkride this Tuesday........... wish me luck. The picture above is me studying.
This weekend Kristen's aunt, uncle and two cousins came to visit. They got here on Thursday and left today (Sunday). Kristen made my favorite, and future famous chicken lasagna for dinner. And tres leches for desert. It was soooo good.
On Friday I went to work and Kristen showed them a little bit of Del Rio and the lake. They met me for lunch at the "restaurant" next to the flightline. That night we went to Rudy's BBQ and then came back here and drank some beer.
On Saturday we went to the lake and rented a boat. We got a pontoon boat because of the number of people we had. I was thinking that it was going to be lame because it was just a pontoon boat and we couldn't ski from it. But........ it rocked! It was not that fast, but it got us out into the lake. On the way out there we lost our tubes... It was so funny. We hadn't fastened them in there good enough I guess. Haha. We probably looked like fools out there turning around in the middle of the lake chasing our tubes in the wind. Haha. We were laughing so hard.
We found a few cool beaches and anchored the boat. We turned up the music on the ice chest (yes..., the ice chest), sat in our tubes, drank and laughed. It was good times.
We decided to climb the "mountain" that we were parked next to out on the lake. It was funny. We were all in sandals and bathing suits. It was tough. Click on this sentence for a video of where we were at...... nice. huh?
When we got back home today Dallas, our "guard dog" was a sleep on the job. Then when she woke up you could tell that she was scared that she got caught sleeping on the job.
My flying partner drink energy drinks all of the time... Here is a picture of the one he was drinking today. I think his heart is going to explode one day. the label has a giant warning on it that says "WARNING: NEVER EXCEED ONE CAN DAILY. READ ENTIRE LABEL BEFORE DRINKING". Haha

ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys are having a blast. Great photos of the family and friends there. And the lake. I thought about you guys with ALEX churning up the wind and water in the Gulf. But all is well. So much trouble in the Gulf with that oil problem. Just a note letting you know I've been thinking about you two. And I know you can't wait for football season to start up again. Neither can I. Stay well!
